Lynda Ann Boughey 3rd November 1951 – 8th November 2007 This wonderful woman achieved more in her short life than some achieve when blessed to live into their 90’s. Lynda was born in Failsworth in 1951 and was the eldest of 7 children and displayed early on in life her caring maternal instinct, by helping to care for her younger siblings. It wasn’t until her 40’s, after raising 3 children, that Lynda made time for herself to follow her vocation to become a mental health nurse. Upon completing this training, we were all blessed by the planned arrival of Harriet, Lynda’s youngest much loved daughter. Lynda was passionate about her work with clients with Alcohol Related Brain Damage and believed wholly in giving people 2nd, 3rd and 4 th chances, often to the disbelief of many other professionals. That’s when Carenza Care was developed. Only recently has Lynda’s work been acknowledged and recognised by Assembly members and the Department of Health for its importance for the health of the nation. Lynda was extremely proud of this recognition and planned to write a book to educate the nation about Korsakoffs. In recent years Lynda had met Paul who she referred to as her soul mate. Along with Paul came step children who Lynda welcomed, particularly Grace, who she was very fond of. Lynda’s husband Paul, her children Deborah, James, Laura and Harriet along with their partners and her very special ADORED grandchildren: Jessica, Charlotte, Jacob, Abbie, Jazzmin, Jamie, Millie, Alysha and Freya who she sadly never met,Will continue to fight her cause and will strive to ensure Lynda’s dream lives on in Carenza, in the research Lynda started and by compiling and completing her book. Lynda If we forgot to show our gratitude for all the things you were and did, we’re thanking you now, and we hope you knew all along, how much you meant to us. Sleep Tight
